First visit

New to Shoreline Kids?

We're excited to meet your family. When you arrive for the first time, our team will help you complete a quick check-in at the First Time Guest Table. We'll walk you through the process and make sure your child is safely checked in. We can't wait to meet you.

01

What Should I Expect?

  • Shoreline Kids opens at 9:15 am and 11:15 am.
  • Checking in your kids is required each Sunday before drop-off. We'll register a tag for the age-appropriate room assigned to your child.
  • Please walk your kids to their rooms, and hang on to that parent tag — you'll need it for pick-up.
  • When picking up, go to the classroom designated for their age or grade and bring your check-in sticker, which has a code that identifies your child.
02

Before You Come

  • Your child must be at least 6 weeks old.
  • You'll leave a diaper bag with the leaders in your child's classroom at drop-off — make sure it is labeled.
  • Strollers can be parked in the hallway.
  • Please, no personal toys.
03

Our Wellness Policy

  • Please don't bring a child who has run a fever within the last 24 hours, or has had diarrhea or vomited in the last 48 hours.
  • Also keep them home with a green or yellow discharge from the nose or eyes, an ongoing cough or sore throat, or any known infectious disease such as HFM or croup.
  • If there is any question as to the health of your child, we ask that parents err on the side of caution to protect the health of other children in our ministries.
  • If they are placed into our care and become ill after arrival, we will contact you to come and pick them up. Thanks for helping us keep our kids safe and healthy.

What is the process for checking in my kids?

We offer two types of check-in for your convenience: self-check-in and a manned station.

Once you are in our system, you may use self-check-in by simply entering your phone number. Your first time will involve meeting face-to-face with our team, who will fill out basic information about you and your children.

What safety and security procedures are in place for my kids?

Safety is our number one priority. No one is allowed to enter the Kids space without a printed security tag, and each tag has a unique alphanumeric code. Both your child and the parent or guardian receive a matching tag at check-in.

Once your child enters the classroom, they will only be allowed to leave with the person in possession of their matching security tag.

How do you get a hold of me if my child needs me?

If we need to reach you for any reason, we'll send an automated text to the number on file through our Planning Center system.

Have the workers caring for my child been background checked?

All team members must have a background check. Each of our rooms has room ratios to ensure the safety of every child, and our check-in / check-out process ensures children are appropriately registered by and released to a parent or guardian.

What do I need to drop off with my child?

For babies: a labeled bag, a labeled bottle (no glass bottles recommended), any soothing items, a labeled diaper, and a change of clothes.

For toddlers: a water bottle and a change of clothes.

If you're worried about your preschooler getting hungry, we've got them covered at snack time — Cheerios or animal crackers.

What if my child has allergies?

While filling out your child's information for the first time, we'll ask if there are any medical or behavioral concerns we should know about. These appear on your child's printed security tag so our team is aware.

For everyone's safety, the Shoreline Kids space is a dairy and peanut-free/aware environment.

If my kids are different ages, can they stay together?

We design our spaces and programming to be effective for a child's assigned age group. To ensure kids' safety, we require kids to stay within the appropriate ages.
